Tree Support Systems

There are many common defects in trees that will weaken a trees supporting structure which can eventually lead to a large part of the tree splitting or breaking off. If noticed early enough these weak points can be secured by using the proper support systems and then carefully monitored.

  • Rope bracing
Used between limbs were there is a weak branch attachment, to contain the limb within a safe range of movement.
  • steel rods/bolts
Used were there is a split or crack in the tree which compromises the trees structure, to fasten separated parts of the tree tight together so they may graft and grow as one and add to the structural integrity of the tree.
  • Steel Cable
Used when a limb has began to fail, to restrict further separation.

Once a support system has been installed in must be carefully monitored and adjusted if necessary!
