Set-up for large scale urban forest operations

Any City that understands the value of trees will have programs in place targeted at planting and establishing new trees, maintaining tree health, providing proper tree clearance, and minimizing hazards in trees. Studies conducted on urban trees have found that they have an unavoidable positive effect on the whole community in which they grow.

Dutch Elm Disease Prevention is a major issue in the Saskatchewan urban forests. If control measures like Elm pruning were not in effect it is very likely urban forests would be devastated by the loss of many of American Elm trees.
